To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (hereinafter referred to as PKU Shenzhen) and enhance international academic exchanges and cross-cultural educational cooperation, PKU Shenzhen will host an International Summer Camp 2026. International Chinese Language Education, as a Sub-Camp, will provide a series of activities focusing on cutting-edge theories, teaching practice, further study and career development. Applications are now open to outstanding students worldwide.
I. Summer Camp Overview
1. Time: July 6 (Monday) to July 10 (Friday), 2026
2. Location: Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, University Town, Nanshan District, Shenzhen City
3. Program Languages: Chinese and English
4. Enrollment Capacity: 50-80 students on a rolling basis until full
5. Eligible Applicants: Outstanding international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who are currently enrolled as an undergraduate or master’s program in any discipline.
II. Application Requirements
1. Non-Chinese citizens.
2. Currently enrolled and registered as an undergraduate or master’s student at a Chinese or overseas university
3. Strong academic record with a competitive CGPA in any field of study
4. High proficiency in academic English or Chinese
5. A Strong interest in international Chinese language education, intercultural communication and technology in language education; applicants who plan to study further in China are preferred.
6. Good physical and mental health; full participation in all Camp activities is required.
III. About the International Chinese Language Education Sub-Camp
The sub-camp is designed for students interested in international Chinese language teaching, intercultural communication and technology in language education. Following a progressive logic of Cognition - Experience - Connection, it includes three thematic sessions to help participants build a disciplinary framework, gain handson teaching experience, and clarify further study and career path.
1. Core Objectives
(1) Systematically understand cuttingedge theories and current developments in international Chinese language education
(2) Engage in Chinese teaching design and microteaching practice, enhancing practical teaching skills
(3) Learn about Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTSCOL) program and clarify pathways for academic and career development.

(1) Session 1: CuttingEdge Insights – Expert’s Sharing
l Time: July 7, afternoon (2 hours)
l Format: Keynote lecture + Q&A
l Content: History, frontier trends, global demand and opportunities of international Chinese language education; onsite Q&A with experts.
(2) Session 2: Workshop – Teaching Design and Practice
l Time: July 8, morning (3 hours)
l Format: Demonstration class + teaching seminar + group micro-teaching
l Content: Observe standard Chinese classrooms; complete group micro teaching presentations with feedback from teachers and peers.
(3) Session 3: Pathways to the Future – Dialogue on Further Study and Career Development
l Time: July 9, morning (3 hours)
l Format: Participant presentations + program briefing + current student sharing + open discussion
l Content: Introduction to the Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (Shenzhen); current students share experience in study, internship and job seeking; one-on-one Q&A on program application and personal development.

a) Photocopy of valid passport page showing your ID (passport type must be ordinary);
b) Academic CV
c) Personal statement (500 to 800 words) describing your motivation, academic interests, and future plans
d) Official undergraduate or master’s transcript from your current university
e) Official certificate of enrollment from your current university
f) Official language proficiency test results (e.g., TOFEL, IELTS, HSK)
g) Other supporting documents (academic paper publication, award certificates, etc.) (optional)
Note:
(1) Each applicant may apply for up to 2 SubCamps but will be assigned to only 1 after review.
(2) All materials must be complete and authentic; failure to submit documents will be considered invalid.
(3) Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as quota is limited.
V. Fees
1. Both the application fee and tuition are waived for all applicants. On-campus meals, short-term medical insurance, and transportation will be provided at no cost by the Organizer.
2. Participants are responsible for their own round-trip travel, accommodation, off-campus meals, and other personal expenses.
3. The organizer will assist students in booking accommodations near Campus. Early registration is recommended to secure preferred accommodation.

VII. Reminders

2. Participants requiring a short-term visa to study in China are advised to apply as early as possible. Supporting documents for the visa application will be provided upon request.
3. Participants shall attend all Camp activities. Those who are absent without valid reason will not receive the Completion Certificate.

5. Any changes due to unforeseen circumstances will be communicated by the Organizer in a timely manner.
